I forgot to blog about this one yesterday. The subtitle to this book is “A Jersey Girl’s Unlikely Adventures Among the Absurdly Famous” and its the memoir of a regular girl who ends up being a lead writer for Rolling Stone and other publications. She pretty much does celebrity interviews. It was written really interestingly, with alternating chapters between memoir-style life stories and mini-chapters of hints for interviewing people which were really just anecdotes about famous people – sometimes named, sometimes not.
One of my all-time favorite books is Pamela Des Barres “I’m With the Band” so I think I was hoping for a little more name dropping and backstage gossip, but this is really more about her life – sometimes entertaining because she is just a girl from Joisey, but sometimes a little schmaltzy. All in all, a good read and worth the $4 I spent from bn.com on sale.
